SUMMARY:NJDHTS – NJTR-1 Crash Form Refresher (In-Person Ocean)
DESCRIPTION:Course Description:\nThis course provides refresher training for law enforcement officials already familiar with the NJTR-1 crash form. Your safety colleagues rely on accurate crash data to create successful\, proactive road safety plans. However\, many of the nearly 300\,000 crash reports NJDOT receives each year contain errors or misinformation–these inaccuracies negatively impact the effectiveness of data-driven crash reduction efforts. As the official recorder of crash scene events\, you can minimize these data deficiencies with the information learned from this training course. \nThis course covers common NJTR-1 errors for both passenger and commercial motor vehicle (CMV) crashes and offers methods to improve crash data quality. Crash analysis software functions and the role of data in crash analysis will be discussed along with the new legislatively mandated way crash reports must be submitted by police departments and their vendors to the DOT through the NJCrash platform. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nThree important purposes of the NJTR-1 Crash Form\nTwo common crash location errors\nThree ways to determine if a CMV should be listed in the CMV section of the form\nThe importance of transitioning to NJCrash software provide by the NJDOT\n\nIntended Audience:\nLaw enforcement and crash analysts \nPre-Requisites:\nNone \nCredits:\nNone \nInstructors:\nWilliam Beans\, MBO Engineering; SFC David Guinan\, NJSP; David Maruca\, Rutgers CAIT \nSponsor:\nNew Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety \nRegistration Confirmation Email:\nAfter registering\, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided. If you cannot locate the registration confirmation in your Inbox\, check your Spam or Junk folder as it is sometimes re-directed there.
