SUMMARY:NJLTAP – Public Sidewalk Curb Ramp Inspection (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:Course Description:\nThis 1-day workshop will cover the current curb ramp and sidewalk criteria in parts of Sections 5.6.4\, 5.7.1\, 5.7.3 and 5.7.4 of the current version of the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Roadway Design Manual for public sidewalk curb ramps. It will also include the corresponding NJDOT Standard Construction Details and NJDOT Sample Plans for public sidewalk curb ramp inspection and construction. \nThis workshop will include curb height\, sidewalk criteria\, parts that make up a curb ramp\, types and placement of curb ramps\, and pedestrian accommodations with signals and push buttons\, islands and driveways. NJDOT Sample Plan curb ramp layout details will be discussed. This workshop will also include the use of the curb ramp type tables in the constructions details and one class problem using these tables. DESCRIPTION:NJDOT now requires New Jersey Traffic Control Coordinators to take this refresher class every two years if they wish to continue working on state-funded projects.  \nCourse Description:\nThe course provides a refresher of the current Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and includes a brief overview of Federal\, NJDOT\, and New Jersey Turnpike specific changes and addresses areas of concern found in our work zones. Topics will include worker safety consideration\, proper placement and use of traffic signs\, shadow vehicles\, and other temporary traffic control devices used to guide road users through work zones. \nIntended Audience:\nAll TCC designation card holders whose designation expiration date is looming. One has two years and three months from the date of the previous class (either the initial TCC course or the TCC Refresher) to renew their designation to remain compliant. \nRequisites:\nIn order to renew your TCC designation and receive a card\, you must meet the requisites\, as follows: \n\nProvide proof of successful completion of the 3-day Traffic Control Coordinator Program or half-day Traffic Control Coordinator Refresher. DESCRIPTION:Please note: The registration deadline for this program is November 21\, 2025 at 12 noon. \nThis is a 3-day program with exam.  Full attendance is required to receive attendance credit. TCC designation is offered to those who meet the attendance requirement\, pass the exam\, and provide the below listed prerequisites. \nCourse Description:\nThis 3-day webinar with exam is designed for experienced highway work zone personnel who seek training in work zone traffic control. NJDOT and other agencies require a contractor to assign a supervisory-level employee with requisite onsite experience to act as the Traffic Control Coordinator (TCC) on roadway construction projects. \nFor those seeking to increase their work zone safety and traffic control knowledge but do not require the TCC designation\, it is recommended to attend the Work Zone Safety Awareness workshop instead. Participants who successfully complete this course will be eligible to serve as TCC and shall have the responsibility and authority to implement and maintain all traffic operations for the project. Upon successful completion of the 3-day course and submission of all prerequisite documentation\, a digital TCC card will be issued. Those who do not provide prerequisite documentation are only eligible for a  course certificate of attendance with applicable PDH credit. \nThe course covers standard work zone protection as specified in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
